The CIHR Proteases and Inflammation Network (PAIN) Group

VISION:  To discover novel targets for the understanding and treatment of pain and inflammation.

OBJECTIVES:  The major objective of the PAIN Group is to promote a series of collaborative projects, supported by core facilities, that will investigate the pathophysiological roles of proteases and their receptor targets (PARs) in the settings of inflammation and pain.  A concurrent objective is to establish a multidisciplinary training centre for MSc, PhD, MD/PhD and MD candidates in the areas of pain and inflammation and to develop a network with other centres locally, in North America and abroad, working in the area of inflammatory disease and pain.
